COP24 Katowice

Clean Air – Common Value

10 December (14 : 00 - 15 : 30)

Emission free inner cities, clean air and how to reduce energy poverty.

Cities will play a key role in climate mitigation in the future. This fact is increasingly acknowledged also in the UNFCCC negotiations and interesting cases of good practice exist around the World. North-Rhine Westphalia supports the implementation of sustainable urban development as well as pilot projects for creating emissions free inner cities. The event aims to shed light on approaches on reducing CO2 emissions in cities and discuss with representatives from cities and regions. An excursus to another pressing topic which is often underestimated will be undertaken during the event. The issue of citizens not being able to pay their energy bill, which is a problem across Europe.
