Meeting with the diplomatic corps

The Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment, the President of COP24 Michał Kurtyka and Artur Lorkowski - Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Climate Affairs, met with the diplomatic corps.

The meeting took place on Monday, April 15 at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Environment. It’s subject were inter alia plans and priorities of the COP24 Polish Presidency for 2019.
The first speaker was the President of COP24.

 As the Presidency, we will do our best to support our Chilean friends in preparations for COP25 - he said. - During my visit to Santiago, I met with the future President of the COP25 - Caroline Schmidt and I assured her of my full support - he added.

Secretary Kurtyka also announced that work in the three leading paths of the Polish Presidency will be continued.

We intend to develop the topics of declarations that we presented during the Katowice summit. Solidarity and just transition, the issue of absorption by forests, as well as electromobility - will continue to be the three pillars of our activities - said Kurtyka.

Ambassador Artur Lorkowski discussed the initiatives.

In June we will organize workshops for the negotiators at UNFCCC session in Bonn. They will be devoted to one of the most important topics of global climate policy today - solidarity and just transition - said the Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of climate.
