Representatives of the Ministry of Environment about climate policy in Brussels

On 11 January 2017 in Brussels, in the Embassy of the Permanent Representation of Canada to the EU, Michał Wiśniewski, Advisor to the Minister, and Tomasz Chruszczow, Counselor to the Minister, attended the meeting on the invitation of the Ambassador of Canada.

The meeting and discussion was attended by the representatives of the European Commission, WWF, business and the Ambassador of Fiji representing the upcoming COP23 Presidency. On the of the guests was Professor Jean Pascal van Ypersele from the Catholic University of Leuven, former Vice-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The discussions included any possible scenarios of the negotiations in the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) in context of the Paris Agreement and decisions made during the COP22 in Marrakesh that specified the scope of works to be implemented in order to ensure full operationalisation of the provisions of the Agreement.
